Mike Green Out For the Season With Spinal Surgery

Mike Green’s season is over, with news coming out that he will undergo cervical spine surgery.
I would first like to wish Green a quick and easy recovery, as spinal surgery is no joke. His procedure is scheduled on April 5th, and the recovery time is expected to be two months.
Green had missed seven games before the trade deadline, which was ultimately the reason why he remained a member of the Red Wings. That injury is presumably what is causing this late season surgery. The hot topic is whether or not Green will be returning to Detroit next season, as he is set to become an unrestricted free-agent this summer. That is up for you to decide, if you believe he should be re-signed or not, however, reports are that Detroit has interested in bringing him back. Although I wonder if this breaking news has any affect on that. This will also take a big toll on Green getting his next payday.
This now gives Detroit the opportunity to call up a defenseman from Grand Rapids. The most likely being Joe Hicketts.
