Detroit Red Wings captain @Dylan Larkin continued his outstanding season with a clutch game-tying goal late in the third period of his team’s game against the Buffalo Sabres on Monday.
With the Red Wings trailing 2–1 in the final seven minutes of regulation, forward @Robby Fabbri fought for the puck behind the Sabres’ net. He knocked @Dylan Cozens off the puck before sending a backhand pass into the slot.
Larkin streaked into the offensive zone off the bench just in time to receive Fabbri’s pass and immediately one-time it past Sabres goaltender @Aaron Dell, tying the game at 2–2 with 6:32 remaining in the third period.

Sabres defenseman @Henri Jokiharju opened the scoring for his team at the 9:56 mark of the first period. Almost exactly two periods later, @Jeff Skinner netted an insurance goal to put his team up 2–0. Namestnikov’s goal came exactly one minute after Skinner’s tally.
The Red Wings and Sabres currently remain tied in overtime. Detroit outshot Buffalo 31–28 in regulation time.
