After a tough training camp in which he was battling injury, Red Wings prospect Lane Zablocki is on the move in the WHL. Being dealt from the Victoria Rotals to the Kelowna Rockets.
Zablocki was drafted 79th overall by the Red Wings in 2016. He didn’t play at all in training camp, as he has been dealing with injury.
The 19-year old winger is no stranger to being traded. He has become a journeyman in the WHL with this being his fifth team in the last three years. He’ll be joining a talented Kelowna Rockets team that is expected to be one of the top teams this season.
In 2017-18, Zablocki posted 31 points in 65 games split between three teams. He also added 3 points in 10 playoff games. Being a CHL player, this is his last year to earn a contract with Detroit. If Detroit does opt to retain him, we could see him with either the Grand Rapids Griffins or the Toledo Walleye next season.
