Detroit Red Wings ink Evgeny Svechnikov to one-year extension

The Detroit Red Wings have signed winger Evgeny Svechnikov to a one-year contract extension.
Set to be a RFA, Svechnikov has played in 20 games with the big club after being drafted 19th overall in the 2015 draft. In those games, he’s scored two goals and as many assists.
He’s spent his time developing in the AHL with the Grand Rapids Griffins where in 182 games he’s scored 38 goals and 99 points.
According to Puckpedia, the contract will see him paid $874,000 in the NHL and $70,000 in the AHL.
