The game between the Colorado Avalanche and the Detroit Red Wings originally scheduled for Monday, Dec. 20 at Little Caesars Arena has been postponed, the National Hockey League announced Friday afternoon.
In all, four Avalanche games have been postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak impacting the team. The league also announced schedule changes for the Calgary Flames and Florida Panthers, but Monday’s game between Colorado and Detroit is the only postponed contest involving the Red Wings.
Later on Friday, the Red Wings announced that all tickets originally purchased for Monday’s game will remain valid once a new date is selected for the contest.
As a result of the postponement, the Red Wings will now have a four-day break separating their games against the New Jersey Devils on Dec. 18 and the Minnesota Wild on Dec. 23.
