Detroit Red Wings prospect Sebastian Cossa stopped all 25 shots he faced on Saturday in a 4–0 victory for the Edmonton Oil Kings in Game 2 of their first-round Western Hockey League playoff series against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
Cossa, 19, helped the Oil Kings take a 2–0 series lead over the Hurricanes with his performance. He improved to 2–0–0 with a sparkling .980 save percentage in the playoffs; during the 2021–22 regular season, Cossa went 33–9–3 with a .913 save percentage.
Here’s a compilation of some of the top highlights from Saturday’s game, as posted to Twitter by the official WHL account:

WingsNation‘s Liam Horrobin spoke to Cossa, teammate Dylan Guenther, and Oil Kings head coach Brad Lauer after Game 1 of the series, in which Cossa stopped 25 of 26 shots en route to a 4–1 victory. Horrobin remarked that Cossa “was unfortunate not to close out the game and get a shutout,” given how well he played in the contest.
Well, two games into his WHL playoff career, Cossa now has his first clean sheet. Over his first three regular seasons with the Oil Kings, Cossa posted 71 wins (including 14 shutouts) in 98 games.
The Red Wings selected Cossa 15th overall in the 2021 NHL Draft. The Fort McMurray, Alberta product stands 6’6″ and weighs 215 pounds; he signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Red Wings on Aug. 14, 2021.
Guenther, a top prospect of the Arizona Coyotes, scored his second goal in as many games on Saturday. Carson Golder tallied twice for the Oil Kings and Kaiden Guhle added an empty-net goal to seal the 4–0 win.
After the Oil Kings took both of the first two games at Rogers Arena in Edmonton, the first-round series will shift to Lethbridge for Games 3 and 4 on April 26 and 28, respectively.
If Cossa keeps up his current level of play, there might not be a Game 5.
