The Detroit Red Wings will be getting Wild this Valentine’s Day.
Xcel Energy Center will be the site of Monday’s clash between the Red Wings and the Minnesota Wild. Detroit enters the game having won back-to-back contests against the Philadelphia Flyers; Minnesota has won eight of its last 10 games and currently sits as the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.
Monday’s game will be the first of two meetings between the Red Wings and Wild this season. Minnesota has been led through its recent winning stretch by 25-year-old forward @Kevin Fiala, who has 10 goals and 18 points in his last 14 games. Red Wings captain @Dylan Larkin has four goals and 11 points in his last five contests.
Larkin recorded three assists in Detroit’s 4–2 victory over the Flyers on Feb. 12. @Tyler Bertuzzi, @Filip Zadina, @Moritz Seider, and @Michael Rasmussen scored and @Thomas Greiss made 32 saves for the Red Wings, which improved to 22–21–6 with the win.

Scoring leaders

Detroit: @Dylan Larkin (24 goals, 49 points); @Tyler Bertuzzi (23 goals, 42 points); @Lucas Raymond (12 goals, 38 points); @Moritz Seider (five goals, 32 points); @Robby Fabbri (13 goals, 25 points).
Minnesota: @Kirill Kaprizov (20 goals, 54 points); @Mats Zuccarello (14 goals, 43 points); @Kevin Fiala (14 goals, 36 points); @Ryan Hartman (18 goals, 33 points); @Marcus Foligno (17 goals, 27 points).

Players to watch

Detroit: What can’t @Lucas Raymond do? In addition to being the NHL’s rookie scoring leader, the 19-year-old winger correctly picked the Los Angeles Rams to win Super Bowl LVI over the Cincinnati Bengals. And we know he didn’t solicit new linemate @Filip Zadina for advice…
Minnesota: Don’t underestimate Matt Boldy. The 20-year-old winger already has four goals and 10 points and has emerged as one of Minnesota’s top play-drivers in his first 12 NHL games. With @Marcus Foligno still serving his two-game kneeing suspension, expect to see a lot of Boldy on Monday.

Viewing and listening options

Monday’s game in St. Paul will be broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit starting at 8:00 p.m. ET. It’ll be sent over the airwaves on WXYT-FM 97.1 “The Ticket” in the Detroit area, as well as on the Red Wings’ official website.
