The Detroit Red Wings will look to close out their quick two-game road swing with a victory on Saturday over one of the National Hockey League’s toughest outs.
The Red Wings and Florida Panthers last met on Oct. 29, 2021. Detroit forward @Pius Suter managed to tie the game 2–2 late in the third period (following a ridiculous series of blocked shots by the Red Wings’ defenders at the other end) before @Aleksander Barkov scored the overtime game-winner for the Cats.

Detroit most recently took on the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday, playing a tight-checking game but ultimately falling 3–1 after a late go-ahead goal by @Mikhail Sergachev and an empty-netter by @Steven Stamkos. Red Wings rookie defenseman @Moritz Seider extended his franchise-record point streak to eight games in the loss.
The Panthers enter Saturday’s action in second place in the Atlantic Division with a 36–13–5 record. Detroit sits three spots and 23 points below them at 24–25–6.

Players to watch

Detroit: How can it not be @Moritz Seider? Win or lose, the 20-year-old defenseman just keeps on chugging. He’s one of just four rookie rearguards in NHL history to score at least a point in eight consecutive games. Even though Detroit scored just once on Friday, Seider managed to pick up the primary assist on the play. At this point, the question shouldn’t be if Seider should win the Calder — it should concern whether or not it’ll be a unanimous vote.
Florida: Two-time Vezina Trophy-winning goaltender @Sergei Bobrovsky may never live up to the seven-year, $70 million deal he signed with the Panthers back in 2019, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t still an excellent goaltender. The 33-year-old Russian blanked the Ottawa Senators with 18 saves on Thursday and has picked up a win in 27 of his 38 appearances this season.

Viewing and listening options

Saturday’s game at FLA Live Arena will be broadcast on Hulu starting at 6:00 p.m. ET. It’ll be sent over the airwaves on WXYT-FM 97.1 “The Ticket” in the Detroit area, as well as on the Red Wings’ official website.
