Blackhawks vs Red Wings | OddsShark Matchup Report
Jonathan Bernier returned from injury with a solid performance on Saturday night as he turned aside 21 of the 23 shots that he faced in Detroit’s 4-2 upset win on the road over the Nashville Predators. The Red Wings had four different goal scorers including Robby Fabbri getting his third goal in his last four games and Anthony Mantha picking up his fifth goal of the season. Detroit has played well over its last four games with two outright wins and a 4-0 record on the +1.5 puckline as both of the team’s losses over that stretch have come by only one goal.
The Red Wings are 2-3-1 at home this season compared to a 2-7-1 record on the road.
With Patrick Kane (seven goals, 15 assists) and Alex DeBrincat (eight goals, eight assists) leading the way on offense, the Blackhawks have turned their 2-4-3 season around with a 5-1-1 record over their last seven games. Rookie goaltender Kevin Lankinen has also played a big role in Chicago’s turnaround with a 6-2-3 record to go along with his 2.49 goals-against average and .925 save percentage. Despite having a long list of injuries (including Jonathan Toews dealing with an illness), the Blackhawks have managed to stay competitive in the Central Division.
Monday night’s total is set at 5.5 goals at sports betting sites. The UNDER is 7-3 in Chicago’s last 10 games.
These next two games should be fun matchups between two rebuilding teams playing well of late. The Red Wings continue their six-game homestand with two games against the Florida Panthers on Friday and Saturday and then two games against the Predators next Tuesday and Thursday.
