Detroit Red Wings goaltender @Alex Nedeljkovic came up huge for his team in Tuesday’s 5–3 win over the Boston Bruins.
Nedeljkovic, 26, made a career-high 47 saves on 50 Bruins shots as the Red Wings erased an early 2–0 deficit and snapped a six-game losing streak. The former Carolina Hurricanes netminder now has an 18–21–8 record and a .901 save percentage in 52 games with the Red Wings this season.
After allowing two goals on 18 shots in the opening frame, Nedeljkovic locked it down the rest of the way. He denied all 15 Bruins attempts he faced in the second period and 16 of 17 in the third.

@Dylan Larkin, @Michael Rasmussen, @Filip Zadina, @Jakub Vrana, and @Sam Gagner all scored for the Red Wings in Tuesday’s game; @Erik Haula, @Brandon Carlo, and @Patrice Bergeron tallied for the Bruins.
Nedeljkovic factored into the Red Wings’ insurance goal late in the third period, corralling the puck near his net and finding a wide-open Gagner in the neutral zone with a perfect saucer pass.
Gagner continued up the ice and sent the puck right into @Jeremy Swayman’s vacated cage for his ninth goal of the season. Nedeljkovic picked up his second assist of the year on the play.
The Red Wings improved to 27–34–9 on the season with the win. The Bruins fell to 44–21–5, with their loss on Tuesday being only their second of the year against a team currently outside the playoff picture (their first was also against Detroit).
With their lengthy losing streak behind them, the Red Wings will return to action on Wednesday when they visit the Winnipeg Jets (33–27–10) at 7:30 p.m. ET.
