@Tyler Bertuzzi has been placed in the National Hockey League’s COVID-19 protocol, the Detroit Red Wings announced Wednesday.
Bertuzzi, 26, is not vaccinated against COVID-19. According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, Bertuzzi is now the only NHL player who has not received a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
As a result of his unvaccinated status, Bertuzzi has not been able to join the Red Wings for their games in Canada this season. He’s missed three games and forfeited $71,250 thus far due to his choice against being immunized; Detroit is 0–3–0 in those contests.
Bertuzzi has nine goals and 18 points in 20 games with the Red Wings this season.
