WATCH: Larkin fakes, takes hard wrister that beats Allen for opening goal

Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin put his team on top early in Saturday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens.

With Montreal defenseman Ben Chiarot serving a tripping penalty, Larkin won the faceoff and received the puck back from Moritz Seider near the top of the left circle.

Larkin walked in towards Canadiens goaltender Jake Allen, faked a shot, and fired a heavy wrister that deflected off the crossbar before slamming into the back of the net.
