Thomas Greiss made 27 saves on 28 shots and five different players on offense scored in Detroit’s 5-1 upset win over the Tampa Bay Lightning as +290 underdogs on Sunday. Greiss is having his best month of the season so far in April with a 1-1-1 record, a 2.01 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage through his first three starts this month. Since getting outscored 12-1 across a three-game losing streak a couple of weeks back, the Red Wings are 3-2-1 over their last six games with a 16-12 goals advantage over that stretch.

The Red Wings are 4-1 in their last five games at home and 9-8-1 at home this season per the OddsShark NHL Database.

Back in the middle of March, the Predators weren’t looking much like a playoff contender with an 11-16-1 record through the first half of this shortened NHL season. But with a 9-2 run over their last 11 games, the Predators have surged into fourth place in the Central Division. Juuse Saros has been red hot over his last 12 starts with a dazzling 1.45 goals-against average and a .959 save percentage. Nashville was outshot 41 to 21 on Saturday night but still came away with a 3-0 win due to Saros’ 41-save performance.

Tuesday night’s total is set at five goals at online betting sites. The OVER is 6-2 in Detroit’s last eight home games against the Predators.

Detroit was thoroughly outplayed in its last two games against the Predators in Nashville when the Red Wings lost 2-0 and 7-1 last month. The Red Wings will try to play spoiler with some more competitive efforts against Nashville this Tuesday and Thursday night at home.
