Team Finland met up with Team USA Blue to open up day two of the World Junior Summer Showcase. Finland surprised many with their 3-2 victory over Team USA White on Saturday. Red Wings prospect Otto Kivenmaki’s showing can be seen here.
The match-up against Team USA Blue didn’t go Finland’s way, however. The game ended up being a blowout on the score sheet. Despite the lopsided final, Kivenmaki was arguably Finland’s best player. The opening two games of his tournament have gone well. Very promising to see for Red Wings fans, who hope to see the 2018 7th rounder crack the final World Junior roster in December.
Kivenmaki’s latest performance from July 28th can be viewed below. He received a little over 15 minutes of ice time, centering the second line with some power play reps. He is number 13 for Team Finland in the dark blue jerseys.
