After a couple of unreal performances from the recent first-round pick, Joe Veleno has been crowned the QMJHL Player of the Week.
With 11 points over three games played, it's no surprise that @jveleno91 of the @Voltigeurs_DRU is the latest Ultramar Player of the Week! #QMJHL50

In his last four games, the Red Wings prospect has amassed a total of six goals and nine assists. An absolutely insane stretch of peak performance from the youngster.
Veleno was drafted by the Wings last June at 30th overall after he dropped severely – initially expected to be taken much earlier. Looks like he’s trying to prove the other teams wrong for skipping over him.
For a taste of what he’s done in the last week:

He’s also been doing it all season long.

Eligible for the AHL at 19-years-old because of his exceptional status, Veleno will most likely start for the Griffins next year and then work his way up from there. At this rate, we might be hearing his name at LCA sooner than we expected.
