  • The Last Big Bear

    1) The Oilers traded Taylor Hall to try to fill the hole on the blue line.

    2) The list of defencemen moved this offseason includes players like Shea Weber and PK Subban.

    3) Yet somehow, the Oilers find themselves sitting with a presumptive #1 defencemen who is 22 years old and still hoping to play his first full season in the NHL.

Oh Oilers management… shine on, you crazy diamonds.

Is anyone else going to laugh their ass off when Auston Matthews opts to go to the KHL?

They start in August, so I bet a few teams are keeping an eye on his contract situation. If someone offers him $4-5 mil or more a year (and in the KHL it’s tax free) is he going to pick a bare-bones ELC over that? We all know he’s comfortable with European-style hockey.
