MINI ME AND THE CLONES ! Oilers been trying to build a replica of the old dynasty Oilers that has kept them in the cellar for years .

Hall is closest to Anderson , but not defensively . Draisaitl is Messier without the grit and physicalness . Schultz was a poor version of Coffey . McDavid not Gretzky status . Yakupov and Eberle not a Linesman or a Tikkanen . Perhaps Oilers will draft Laine or Puljujaarvi to replace Kurri this year . We still have no Lowe on defence or even a Fuhr or Ranford. The template is there but the players are far from being that dominant team of the eighties . The mini me’s are defensive busts and not adapt at team commitment and play in comparison to old dynasty team . Surrounding caste of little value and thus Oilers remain a bust to this day .

Shultz isn’t a poor man’s version of Coffey. He’s a poor man’s version of the homeless version of Coffey.

    Coffey > Poor man’s Coffey > Homeless man’s Coffey > Poor man’s homeless man Coffey/Shultz

’07: Fool me once, shame on you.

’08: Fool me twice, shame on me.

’09: Fool me three times, better start promoting the people fooling me

’10: Fool me four times, at least we’re finally being fooled “PROPERLY” now

’11: Fool me five times, hey the kool-aid is starting to taste pretty good

’12: Fool me six times, looks like it’s time for more promotions?

’13: We chased the dream for our fans, and now I can’t believe you’re getting impatient already after only being fooled 3 times.

’14: Fool me 8 times, doesn’t feel as foolish because it only lasted half as long

’15: Fool me 9 times, but thats ok, it’s obvious we’re just still paying for our success in the ’80s.

’16: Fool me 10 times, so I suppose we’ll just keep talking a big game until our team is out of the picture by November, at which time we’ll pipe up about how next year will be different.

’17: Year 1 of the Dynasty!!!???
