  • RedMan

Looking at Nurse’s unconstrained rage, I wonder if he has been tested for steroids. at least the Oilers finally have a goon that can also fill a 6/7/8 role on the blueline

      • For Pete's Sake!

Darnell is a player to be feared both for his skill and his ferocity. Kind of like Mark Messier.

He’s also a young man of character. He’s admitted he made a mistake and that his suspension was fair, unlike Wideman who tried to B.S. his way out of his suspension with his sad story of, “I was sooo confused!” What a baby he is.

Oh, and why exactly did Calgary draft Hunter Smith?? For his vast array of skill, I’m sure.

        • Gary Empey

The sooner Darnell Nurse is kicked out the league the better. “Suspended three games for repeatedly sucker punching an unwilling and unsuspecting defenseless opponent on Tuesday night”

You call him “a young man of character.” That behavior shows a complete lack of character.

          • For Pete's Sake!

Roman Polak is a veteran who’s bigger and heavier than Nurse. Not exactly defenseless. He skated toward Nurse and grabbed his sweater, so he initially engaged but then decided to turtle. It’s not Nurse’s fault the big man turtled.

Nurse’s mistake was that he should have challenged him first and not initiated the fight. But standing up for a teamate who just got tripped into the boards on a dangerous play is not ever wrong in my eyes. You just have to go about it smarter than Darnell did.

He’s a twenty year old rookie who in his first NHL fight took on Milan Lucic in L.A. The kid’s got courage. Who on your Flames would take on Lucic?

    • Jake the Snail

NHL does not have a drug testing policy – it is a secret. Anyone who reacts that violently to a harmless play on another team mate should be tested immediately upon hitting the dressing room.
