As the trade deadline approaches, it's only logical to talk about the most popular names on the rumour mill. While it's fun to discuss the possibility of Matt Duchene, Gabriel Landeskog, or Kevin Shattenkirk getting dealt, there are other names that are just as likely, maybe even more likely, to be actually be traded when deadline day rolls around.

Detroit entered this one red hot after back-to-back wins against the Capitals and the Pens. With the deadline approaching and their bye-week coming up, there are a lot of decisions to be made regarding the roster, the direction and the overall look of this team. This Tuesday evening showing against the Islanders was not a good look for most of the guys out there as Detroit's play came back down to earth pretty quickly.

On Saturday the Red Wings snapped a five-game losing streak with a shootout win over the Capitals and followed that up with a 5-2 win in Pittsburgh on Sunday.

Top to Bottom — Trade Deadline Edition: Atlantic Division

This is a four-part series analyzing where each NHL teams stands heading into the trade deadline based on the context of each division, and the short- and long-term implications of buying or selling with the expansion draft around the corner. 

The Atlantic Division is complete wide open. Every day, depending on who happens to have a game, the standings shuffle up and down, as only a whopping twelve points separates first from last in the division. The Canadiens have a closing window that their general manager will surely try to capitalize on, while the Red Wings, Sabres, and Lightning, have had disappointing seasons and could sell. In the middle are the Senators, who nobody expected to be playing so well, the Leafs who still have their eyes on the future, the Panthers who are finally playing at a high level, and the Bruins who, uh, who knows!
