Well, I shook things up in Saturday’s GameDay preview and the Red Wings win, so I might as well stick with the winning formula. It mostly consisted of lightning them up with words and then they respond with six goals—which was double than how many they scored in the previous four games combined, which is what led to the angry words.

Well, this home stand certainly has not gone the way the Red Wings were hoping. These five games were a chance for the Red Wings to rattle off a few more wins and really assert themselves in the Eastern Conference. Instead, they’ve fallen flat on their faces and now sit 11 points out of the final Wild Card spot with 51 games remaining. Obviously they’re not out of it, but when you lose to Arizona and then barely show up in the next game, you’re probably not a playoff team and yo might even be a lottery team.

The Red Wings come into Thursday needing a strong performance and a win. They are coming off of arguably their worst game of the season, losing 4-1 to the Coyotes, who were manhandled in Pittsburgh the night before.

OK, I’m going to make this quick because I’m super late on it. That’s what happens when you get your first snowfall of the season on a Sunday!
The Red Wings will be looking to bounce-back after a poor performance vs. the Blue Jackets on Friday. Tonight’s game will be the third and final meeting of the season between the Red Wings and Flyers. Each of the first two games needed extra-time, with the Flyers winning the first in overtime and the Red Wings winning the second in a shootout.

Before I get into anything hockey related, I would like to extend my condolences to Red Wings' play-by-play announcer Ken Daniels and his family, who lost their 23-year-old son on Thursday.
After a disastrous first period in Winnipeg, the Red Wings settled in and battled back for a 4-3 shootout win before returning to Detroit.
