After a disastrous loss to the Flyers on Tuesday, the Red Wings have made things a little more difficult on themselves. They’re coming off of a huge win over the Blue Jackets on Thursday and tonight they will meet the Panthers for the fourth and final time of the season. After seeing a combined 83 shots fired on goal vs. the Flyers, Thursday’s 50 shots was a little more pedestrian, but whatever gets the job done!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to the Red Wings faithful! It’s too bad this isn’t an afternoon game so we could have the ability to drown our sorrows in green beer if we fall to the Blue Jackets again. We’re going to consume a few extra brews this afternoon because the Philadelphia Flyers went into Chicago on the tail-end of a back-to-back and won…Chicago, who has the second best home record in the NHL, has been sliding (since they dismantled us twice of course) and they started their backup goalie for no apparent reason at all. WGD: GAME 70, THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR

There is no way to dance around this… the Red Wings have to win tonight. After an embarrassing 1-0 shutout loss to the last placed Toronto Maple Leafs, the Red Wings enter Tuesday with a three-point lead over the Philadelphia Flyers, but the Flyers have two games in hand.

There’s a different feeling about these Red Wings right now. A week ago we were dismantled by the Blackhawks twice, but now we’ve won two in a row in come-from-behind fashion. Thankfully the Florida Panthers were able to get past our new rival in Philadelphia. Unfortunately, it was in a shootout so they still got a point, but we got two. so…
