Fresh off a two-year extension with the Red Wings, the upcoming season of Alexey (or Alexei, depending on who you ask) Marchenko is bound to be one worth keeping an eye on. Having an eventful offseason representing Russia at both the World Cup of Hockey and the World Championships (winning a bronze at the former), Marchenko aims to be an impact player in his second full season in the Winged Wheel. Of course, the extent of his impact will largely be due to not how well he plays, but by external situations largely out of his control.

Red Wings players are taking off their gloves to high-five after goals. I love it. pic.twitter.com/ZfWDkcdpVS— Pete Blackburn (@PeteBlackburn) September 29, 2016
Okay, the title might contain a little hyperbole. But let's not pretend that this celebration isn't loads of fun.
In case you missed it, the Wings won 5-1 last night over the Boston Bruins in a preseason game. That's fun and all, but the best part was by far this celebration, pulled out after Luke Glendenning put the Wings up 3-1.

Tomas Tatar, man. Tatar continued his hot streak, scoring his third goal in the past two games in the World Cup for team Europe, this one in game one of the WCH final.
It's hard to really fault his performance so far, as he's been unstoppable once the elimination rounds came out.

I wish I had a better lede, but "OKAY WOW WHAT IS GOING ON" will suffice.
For his second goal of the game, Tomas Tatar sends Team Europe into the World Cup of Hockey Final against Canada, starting Tuesday night.

WOW! Despite being berated online by many, Team Europe is up 2-1 in the third period of the World Cup of Hockey. WOW! WHAT A SHOCKER! Scoring the 2-1 goal was none other than... Detroit's Tomas Tatar.
